Iowa's Transgendered Day of Remembrance and the TDoR Proclamation of Governor Chet Culver recognizing this day, proposed by Transformations Iowa, have come under attack from Chuck Hurley and his, 'Iowa Family Policy Center', a self proclaimed, 'pro-family policy group', that is actively working to strip Marriage Equality from Iowa Citizens.

'Chuck Hurley, said he views the proclamation as an attempt by Culver to use the power of the governor’s office “to promote sexual confusion and deviant behavior.”'.

I find it utterly repulsive that a group that alleges to be "Pro Family" and "Christian" would stand against a Memorial day for people who have suffered and died due to hateful bigotry. I cannot help but wonder what it means to these people to be Christian or family. As well as supporting discrimination in general, they seem to support violence, murder and disrespect for the grieving families and loved ones of the Brothers and Sisters who we have lost.

Here are two web based information sources, there are many others if you would like to search and read more.
