This is an incredible and highly informative speech. I did noit even realize that Charles Socarides was still around. It all goes back to 1974 , when we fought to get homosexuality out of the DSM-III and won, thanks to the support of intellegent psychologists and queer activists including Frank Kameny. I did not realize the seriousness of the religious "wrong" using reperative therapy to "correct" GID. This must change and I think it will with the DSM-V which is still being hotly debated. Thank you, Pauline for bringing this information availableand enlightening medical practitioners.I am also a firm believer that reperative therapy never works and does irreperable damage.
